Nova Southeastern University issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
#17 NSU Drops SSC Match to ERAU
The No. 17 Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team was defeated in four-sets by the Embry-Riddle Eagles in a battle of top-five teams in the NCAA South Region. NSU remains half-a-game ahead of the Eagles in the Sunshine State Conference standings, and the teams split their 2021 match-ups.

HOW IT HAPPENED
NSU fell behind 0-9 in the first set, calling a timeout to attempt to stall the Eagles momentum.
ERAU extended its lead to 3-16 over Nova Southeastern.
Trailing 12-22, Amanda Hall started a Sharks rally by recording a kill. Elizabeth Price added back-to-back kills to force the Eagles into a timeout.
Alex Psoma followed the break with a service ace, as NSU trailed 17-22.
Price added two more kills, around a Cambry Pope service ace, bringing Nova Southeastern within two, 21-23.
NSU came back to tie the first set 23-23, but dropped it 24-26.
Preslee Brooksbank gave the Sharks their first lead of the match with a service ace in the second set.
ERAU rallied to score four consecutive points, taking a 9-13 lead over NSU.
The Sharks led 24-22 over Embry-Riddle but the Eagles managed to tie the second set at 24-24.
Price gave Nova Southeastern an opportunity to seal the set with a kill, however, ERAU once again tied the set.
Embry-Riddle recorded the final three points of the second set, taking a 2-0 match lead over NSU, with a 27-29 set win.
Brittany Landrum added a kill for NSU to give the Sharks an 8-5 advantage over the Eagles in the third set.
An 8-0 run by Nova Southeastern, started by Julia Bernardes, gave NSU a 16-6 lead over Embry-Riddle.
ERAU cut into the Sharks lead, putting the score at 24-23 as NSU called a timeout late in the third set.
The Sharks claimed the third set win following a service error from the Eagles.
Nova Southeastern’s comeback effort stalled in the fourth set, as the offense was unable to get going. The Sharks dropped the set 12-25, falling in four-sets to the Eagles.

No. 17 Nova Southeastern returns to the home crowd on 11/11, hosting Florida Southern in Sunshine State Conference action. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
