Daytona State College issued the following announcement on Nov. 4.

The Daytona State Falcons, ranked 8th in the last NJCAA poll (11-1-1), will play against Region 10 Champions Richard Bland College (10-4-1) this Saturday, November 6th at 10:30 AM. The match will be played in Prince George, Virginia home to the Richard Bland Statesmen. The Statesmen earned the right to play in the championship match by defeating USC Lancaster 3-1.

The Falcons of Daytona State will look to defend their 2020-21 title where they defeated USC Lancaster 7-0. This will be Daytona’s 3rd time playing for the Southeast District since the inception of the program in 2016. Coach Bart Sasnett on the match, “We’re expecting a great matchup, we know they have excellent players and coaching. Half of our starting lineup played in this match last year and they know what it takes to win”! Daytona State is coming off a 7 game win streak that includes 5 shutouts.

The winner of the Southeast District match will punch a ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament in Tyler, Texas November 15th-20th.
