Nia Jordan posted a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds in Bethune-Cookman’s 64-60 loss to Akron in the Hatter Classic Monday afternoon at Stetson University.

Chanel Wilson also scored 19 points as the Wildcats (1-9) concluded non-conference play. They’ll open their Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule January 2 at Florida A&M.

B-CU led 49-48 entering the fourth quarter after a Kayla Clark lay-up, but was held scoreless the first four minutes of the final frame, allowing Akron to take a 54-49 lead.

Clark brought the Wildcats back to 61-60 on a jumper with one minute to play, but Akron scored the final three points.

B-CU used an 11-2 run to take a 21-12 lead early in the second quarter, but Akron led at halftime 38-33.

Jordan registered season highs in both scoring and rebounding in her first double-double of the season. Wilson hit two three pointers for her fifth game of 19 or better in the past six games.
