FOIA Request to North Florida Community College Regarding Chinese National Students on June 4, 2025.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, East Panhandle News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to North Florida Community College. This request seeks detailed information about the college’s current Chinese National students and related policies.

The request specifically asks for documents or lists showing all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their department of study. If such details are protected, we have requested the total number of these students at the university and a breakdown by department. Additionally, we seek information on scholarships received by these students, including amounts and sources.

Furthermore, we have inquired about any recipients of scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council. Lastly, we are interested in understanding how the university monitors its students, particularly Chinese Nationals, to protect intellectual property and confidential information.

This request is made on behalf of East Panhandle News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy. As media professionals dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to these records is crucial for fulfilling our responsibilities. We have also requested a fee waiver given our role in disseminating information to the public.
