Dr. Heather White, dean of students and associate vice president for student life at the University of Florida, has been named UF’s next vice president for student life. Heather brings 25 years of higher education experience to this role. Throughout her tenure, she has led various student life teams, where she has a proven record of developing successful campus partnerships and executing university initiatives that have prioritized student success and well-being.

White will assume her new role effective September 1.

White has served in her current position since January 2018. In that role, she oversees the Dean of Students Office, the Disability Resource Center, GatorWell Health Promotion Services, and the Counseling and Wellness Center. Prior to assuming her current role, Heather served as director of UF’s Career Resource Center (now Career Connections Center) from 2011 to 2017 in addition to a variety of roles in the center. Before coming to UF 18 years ago, White worked in Housing and Residence Life at Valdosta State University and Jacksonville University.

Heather holds a doctorate in educational leadership and a master’s degree in counselor education.
She succeeds Dr. D’Andra Mull, who announced in March that she was stepping down effective August 31.
