Jacob Crews has earned Region 8 Player of the Week honors after leading Daytona State to three wins, including victories over Pensacola State and nationally-ranked Northwest Florida State in the Florida College’s Shootout this past weekend. In the 3 games this past week, he averaged 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 steal, and 2.3 blocks. He shot 57.5% (23-of-40) from the field, 42.3% (11-of-26) from three, and hit all eight of his free throw attempts. He scored 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting against Pensacola State; against Northwest Florida State, he hit six threes, including one to force OT, and finished with 29 points for the game.
