Eastern Florida State College recently issued the following announcement.

Brevard County Tax Collector Lisa Cullen is the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Eastern Florida State College Foundation for her leadership in the community.

“Lisa exemplifies the very best of EFSC in her service to residents of the Space Coast and strong support for our students,” said Cindy Kane, Executive Director of  Development and Strategic Engagement for the EFSC Foundation.

“This award shines a bright light on her work and achievements, and we are honored to call her a great friend of the college.”

Nominators described Cullen as a dedicated public servant and “loyal steward of taxpayer dollars, faithful to her Constitutional oath, and a beacon of trustworthiness in Brevard County.”

Cullen was elected to the post in 2008 and was re-elected unopposed in 2012, 2016, and 2020. She manages a staff of 174 employees in seven branch offices.

She attended Brevard Community College, the forerunner to EFSC, and UCF where she received a degree in Accounting and Finance.

Cullen has been active in several organizations, including President of the Florida Tax Collectors Association in 2014.

Lisa Cullen celebrates her newest honor with her Brevard County Tax Collector’s office staff outside their Titusville office.

She also served on the Board of Directors of the EFSC Foundation from 2012-2018, playing an important role in raising money for student scholarships.

The EFSC Foundation will begin accepting applications for the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award in July.
