Keiser University issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.

Location: Arrigo-Vecellio Field, West Palm Beach, Fla.

No. 2 Keiser women’s soccer earned its fourth shutout of the year in a 4-0 victory over Thomas. The Seahawks also claimed the first conference win of the season behind two goals 

HOW IT HAPPENED

.Henriksson got the scoring started in the 27th minute off a cross from Ramona Kannady to give Keiser the 1-0 advantage.

The scrappy first half came to an end with 19 total fouls being given, including one yellow card to Thomas’ Kayley Smith.

Oline Sundgot started the second half with a rocket from nearly 40 yards out to give the Seahawks a 2-0 lead after just 56 seconds.

Once again, it was Henriksson who found the back of the net in the 77th minute. This time weaving in and out of defenders before slotting a shot into the lower right corner of the net.

In the 83rd minute, Kannady sealed the game for Keiser off a headed assist from Linnea Krockel.

The Seahawks defense held out for entire match to secure the 4-0 shutout.

GAME NOTES

Keiser moves to 16-0-1 in Sun Conference openers.

The Seahawks improved to 11-1 against Thomas, extending their winning streak to five in a row.

Henriksson’s two goals were the first and second of the year for the sophomore defender.

Krockel’s assist in the 83rd minute was her first of the season.

Ovenberger and Fanni Pietikainen both picked up a yellow card in the second half.

Grace McClellan was credited with her third shutout of the season after making two saves in the contest.

The Nighthawks out-fouled the Seahawks 16-14 on the afternoon.

Keiser totaled 24 (12 on goal) shots in the game, with Thomas getting off just seven (two on goal).
