Eastern Florida State College issued the following announcement on Sept. 9.

The Eastern Florida State College Foundation will host a “Pizza with A Purpose” event on Tuesday, September 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pizza Gallery and Grill located at 2250 Town Center Avenue in Viera.

Proceeds from this public event will provide much-needed scholarships for First Generation college students entering Eastern Florida State College.

“We are truly grateful to Pizza Gallery for hosting this wonderful fundraiser,” said Cindy Kane, EFSC Foundation Executive Director of Development and Strategic Engagement. “These funds make it possible for students who are the first in their families to attend college to make higher education a reality and improve their quality of life.”

Part of Pizza Gallery and Grill’s community outreach efforts, the event features food, fun, drawings and the chance to make a difference.

Customers need only mention “Pizza with A Purpose” and 10% of their check will be donated to the EFSC Foundation.

For more information, contact the EFSC Foundation at efscfoundation@easternflorida.edu or call 321-433-7055.
