The Sunshine State Conference announced the Players of the Week for the week of December 12 – 19, on Tuesday afternoon. Nova Southeastern Sharks student-athlete RJ Sunahara (Men’s Basketball) earned honors following his performance this past week.Nova Southeastern Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week awards are presented by Courtyard Marriott.  

Sunahara picks up the sixth Player of the Week honor of his career, scoring a career-high 41 points in NSU’s 122-104 win over Bluefield State. Which places him tied for third in school history for points scored in a single game. The Bay Village, Ohio, shot 18-24 from the field and 5-7 from the line, while also adding seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks to his stat sheet in the win. The junior forward also tallied a game-high 27 points in just 16 minutes on the court as NSU defeated Florida Memorial 153 to 98. Sunahara averaged 24.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.
