Nova Southeastern University issued the following announcement on March 4.

The Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s track and field team competed in their second meet of the 2022 season on Friday evening at the Tampa Track Invitational. The Sharks raced in the 800m and 5-kilometer race. 

During the womens 5K, Ivanova Yanes placed fourth with a time of 17:53.14. Maya Espinosa was the only other Shark to place within the top-25, finishing 22nd with a time of 18:34.50. 

On the mens side, Joseph Salerno finished RBs 5K in under 15 mins, placing 11th, with a time of 14:59.81. Aaron Weimer finished the race in 34th, with a time of 15:36.96. 

Lauren Breski (2:46.07), Grace Moriarty (2:46.56), Sara Sonnak (2:53.94), and Hilary Moreno-Rosales (2:58.46) all finished the 800m in under three minutes for Nova Southeastern. 

UPCOMING

The Sharks will host their 2022 senior day from the Ansin Sports complex on Tuesday, March 15. Senior Day festivities are set to begin at 2 p.m.
