Nova Southeastern University recently issued the following announcement.
Nova Southeastern Sharks Men’s and Women’s Swimming hosted Florid Southern in a Sunshine State Conference dual meet on Friday afternoon from the NSU Aquatics Center.
Before the meet, NSU Athletics honored Rafael’s Chambasian, Laurel Gallaudet, Martin Hemminghyth, Spencer Hohm, Allison Kopas, Sasha Maslova, Benjamin Moers,
Amilia Nusbaum, Hannah Trieschmann, Evan Weber, Cassandra Wright and Alessandro Xella, the 12 Shark Seniors, in a pre-meet ceremony.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Men’s)
Luca Alessandrini picked up the first mens win of the conference dual, claiming the victory in the 1000-freestyle (9:30.13)
Thomas Flower was victorious in the 200-free, finishing two seconds in front of the second place finisher. He followed with a win in the 100-free (45.56)
Alessandrini also won the 500-free (4:32.17)
Steven Aimable earned a win for the men in the 100-butterfly (49.68)
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women’s)
NSU had two relay teams finish first (Celina Marquez, Savanna Best, Amanda Kopas, and Brady Estrada) and second (Cassandra Wright, Claire Gass, Sasha Maslova, and Amilia Nusbaum) in the 200 medley relay.
Marquez followed with a win in the 200-freestyle, finishing in 1:53.56
Wright cruised to a win in the 100-backstroke, finishing the race in 56.07
Best added an individual victory by taking the win in the 100-breaststroke (1:03.63)
Maslova finished six seconds in front of the second place racer in the 200-butterfly, completing the race in 2:03.79
Wright’s second individual win of the afternoon came in the 100-free
Marquez (1st/2:00.87), May Lowy (2nd/2:04.53), Solana Capalbo (3rd/2:11.57) were the top finishers in the 200-backstroke
Best’s second win of the afternoon came in the 200-backstroke (2:19.31)
Estelle Bauer won the 500-freestyle (5:08.21)
Maslova was victorious in the 100-butterfly, winning by three seconds (55.95)
Lowy was victorious in the 200-IM, taking the win by five seconds.

NSU concludes its 2021-22 regular season with a dual-meet against Keiser (NAIA) on Sat., Jan. 22, in West Palm Beach, Fla.
