Following one of the best starts in program history, the Nova Southeastern Women’s basketball was recently named 16th in the latest release of the D2SIDA Media Poll. The Sharks make their first appearance in the poll after entering the season not ranked.

The Women’s Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its ninth season of existence. During the season, the regional polls are released every Monday (until the NCAA begins releasing its regional polls), followed by the national poll every Tuesday.

NSU earned a 3-0 record this past week, with wins over St. Augustine, Minnesota-Crookston, and a thriller against Purdue-Northwest. Bringing their overall record for the season to 6-0 as they head into SSC play.

Iowa State transfer Madison Frederick has been leading the Sharks with her impressive play. Frederick is averaging 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists per game, and she is currently 2nd in the league in points and assists. As a team NSU is second in the SSC in total offense averaging an impressive 83.3 points per game, including a league lead, 58 three-point field goals made through six games.

NSU will open up SSC play on the road Wednesday to take on Lynn before returning home Saturday, Dec. 3 for a matchup with Eckerd.
