Softball team will host Indian River State College Saturday in doubleheader

Eastern Florida State College recently issued the following announcement.

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Indian River State College in a Southern Conference doubleheader.

The Titans have won three of the past four heading into Saturday’s doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.  

Indian River State College comes into the contest 6-0 in the conference and 21-9 overall. Indian River State has won 11 in a row and are led by Daija Torchia who is hitting .417 this season with 23 stolen bases.

Eastern Florida State College is seventh in Region VIII in team ERA with a 2.77 ERA while the Indian River offense is hitting .338 as a team which is eighth in the state.

Titans starter Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor is fifth in the state in ERA with a 1.37 ERA. Offensively, Kayla Domon is tied for fourth in the state in stolen bases with 28 while Brooke Theisen is hitting .417 this season.

Admission is free to Saturday’s games at Titan Softball Complex and the games will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
