Sharks Sweep SSC Runner of the Week awards
The Sunshine State Conference announced the first SSC Athletes of the Week of the 2022-23 athletic year on Monday afternoon. Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s cross country earned their first honorees of the year, as Joseph Salerno and Kamila Soja were named the Sunshine State Conference Runners of the Week.
Salerno earned his first win of the season, pacing the Sharks and the field, at St. Thomas. Salerno finished the race in 16:02.90, a full 30-seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Soja also claimed victory for the Sharks, leading the way with a time of 19:10.82, as NSU earned a perfect score for the first time in program history.
The Sharks race again on Sat., Sept. 17, in Daytona Beach on the campus of Embry-Riddle.
