Daytona State College issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.

When Harleigh (Bilz) Crist and Juliet St Angelo took on the 6000 meter race distance this past weekend at Florida State University, both could have been intimidated by the extra

1000 meters they had to cover.  Instead, they both went out a competed with some of the best runners in the country.  St Angelo finished the 6k course in 24:39, just four seconds

ahead of teammate Crist.  “Although they have run completely different races, Juliet going out hard and maintaining, and Harleigh coming on stronger at the end, they have both

been getting faster all fall,” commented Coach Judy Wilson.  The Falcon duo have a shot at All America status at the NJCAA championships in November, and that would make

history for the Falcon program.

The Falcons third runner, Ayanna Fulton, continues to improve and is closing up the gap between her and the Falcon top two.  “We have been working on getting Ayanna into a

position where she can finish in the top seven at the region meet.”  Wilson said.  Finishing out the top seven were Nathaly Abastida, Makayla Shores, Angel Khrino, and Audrey

Moros.  The Falcons run next at the FCSAA Region 8 championships in Tallahassee at Apalachee Regional Park.
