HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL: Students Eat Free Starting September 21, 2020

Foooddddd

Hillsborough County Public School issued the following announcement.

Beginning Monday, September 21, all children 18 and under will be able to receive FREE breakfast and lunch thanks to USDA government funding!

All brick and mortar students can receive hot, nutritious meals at no cost in our school cafeterias and students who are learning virtually will be able to pick-up their free Grab-and-Go meals at one of 75 school sites. Our 75 Grab-and-Go sites will be open Monday and Wednesday ONLY from 10am – 11am for students and parents to pick up meals.

Parents are able to pick up the meals without their child being present. However, we will once again be utilizing our meal tracker app so you must know your child’s student ID number or date of birth.

This is a limited time opportunity through December 2020 or until government funding runs out.

Return to Athletics

Superintendent Addison Davis has released his Return to Athletics Plan which details the safety guidelines for our student-athletes, bands and spectators.

Each fall participant will have the opportunity to purchase up to 4 tickets for each contest. The details are included in the plan.

We also encourage you to watch this video illustrating the spectator experience.

HCPS COVID-19 Data Dashboard

Hillsborough County Public Schools has created a COVID-19 Data Dashboard to inform parents, students, staff and the community about the spread of coronavirus in our schools.

The dashboard can be found at HillsboroughSchools.org/reopening/dashboard

The COVID-19 Data Dashboard will be updated automatically every 4 hours from 7a.m. – 7p.m. seven days a week. Schools impacted by COVID-19 cases are listed along with the number of employees and students.

We vow to remain transparent as we monitor the number of COVID-19 cases in our schools.

School Reopening Plan for the 2020-21 school year

On Thursday during the School Board Workshop, Superintendent Addison Davis presented his detailed School Reopening Plan for the 2020-21 school year.

This plan evolved after extensive discussions with our health partners at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health. It is a fluid plan that we will continue to modify as the need arises.

The plan includes information about what returning to school will look like, an extensive look at each of our three learning options, and what steps will happen if there is a positive COVID-19 case in one of our schools.

You can view the School Reopening Plan here.
