Healing from Racial Stress and Trauma

This workshop will help you identify the signs and symptoms of racial stress and trauma, the experiences that can lead to racial trauma, and provide strategies to help with the healing process. Participants will be provided with an open space to share experiences and gain support.

Noon–1 p.m.

heART Connections

Healing can begin to take place when we tap into a place of peace. Sometimes words are difficult so art allows the doors to be opened in a safe space. We plan to create mandalas as a symbolism of peace. This gives individuals a chance to end the year with a peaceful mindset.

1–2 p.m.

Keynote Speaker: Keri Gray

Sanction our Scars: A conversation on marketing and branding body positivity

This workshop addresses societal expectations around body image and performance. It encourages attendees to think critically about the myths behind these standards and what it means to amplify body positivity that is reflective of your everyday person.

2–3 p.m.

How to Be an Ally to Students of Color

This interactive workshop is for those who are interested in how we as individuals, and as a campus community, can be supportive of our students of color. During the workshop, we will discuss what it means to be an ally, how to increase self-awareness of biases, how to engage in supportive actions, the impacts of lack of support, and the resources and opportunities for support that are available.
