Daytona State College Athletics issued the following announcement on Aug. 16

Daytona State College, Head Women's Basketball Coach Tron Griffin has announced the hiring of Assistant Coach, Sherranda Reddick.

Reddick arrives at Daytona State after serving 2019-2021 as a graduate manager for the Ole Miss women's basketball team. Reddick was a four-year starter for Rebel head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin at Jacksonville University, where she reigns as the all-time leading scorer after being a crucial part of the program turnaround McPhee-McCuin engineered for the Dolphins.

"We have a great opportunity ahead of us with this women's basketball team, and I am excited to have someone like Sherranda as a role-model and leader to our ladies. Her passion is contagious, and she is an up-and-coming young coach who is eager to work and ready to assist in the growth and development of the women's basketball program, said Griffin."

Reddick notched a JU record of 1,727 points throughout her career (13.9 PPG), starting in 113 of 124 career games played for the Dolphins. Reddick was the main catalyst for Jacksonville University from 2014-17, seeing the program go from sub-.500 records to the first NCAA Tournament berth in school history in 2016 and a subsequent WNIT trip in 2017. During those final two seasons of postseason play, Reddick did not miss a single game, starting all 55 contests and averaging 17.2 PPG in that span. Reddick was a two-time first-team Atlantic Sun selection, was also a member of the ASUN All-Freshman Team in 2014 and played professionally in Germany for Turn-Klub Hannover the 2017-2018 season.

"I am extremely excited to be joining the Daytona State College family. I look foward to mentoring our Lady Falcons on and off the floor while pushing them to be the best version of themselves everyday. I am truly grateful to Coach Griffin for this opportunity and can't wait to get started, said Reddick."

A native of Jacksonville, FL and a graduate of Ribault High School, Reddick graduated with a bachelor's in sociology from Jacksonville University in 2017, and master's in sport & recreation administration from Ole Miss in 2021.
