Sharks Projected to Finish Third in SSC Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Nova Southeastern University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.

Quickly closing in on the start of the much-anticipated 2021 campaign, the Nova Southeastern women's soccer team has been projected to finish third in the Sunshine State Conference following the release of the SSC Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday.

The Sharks collected 80 total points in the voting process, trailing only Embry Riddle and Rollins. ERAU topped the poll with 89 points and five first-place nods, while Rollins reeled in 86 points and two first-place tallies. Barry earned the four remaining first-place votes, yet was slotted fifth overall.

The COVID-19 pandemic kept NSU off the pitch in 2020. The year prior, however, the Sharks ripped off a historic run, knocking off ERAU in the Sweet 16 en route to capturing the program's very first NCAA South Region title.

As part of a four-game homestand to open the season, James Moore will make his head coaching debut when the Sharks kick-off on Fri., Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. in a non-conference clash with SSC rival Lynn.
