Nova Southeastern University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
Brianna Paige scores in NSU’s 3-1 defeat at Lynn
Facing the Lynn Fighting Knights for the second time in less than three weeks, this time away from home, the Nova Southeastern women's soccer team dropped its Sunshine State Conference opener by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Though neither team scored in the first 45 minutes, the Fighting Knights controlled on the offensive end, taking all five shots of the half, two of which were stopped by Sharks goalkeeper Shannon Hearty.
The Sharks finally had their first attempt just two minutes out of halftime, off the foot of Lily Truong, but It didn't take much longer for Lynn to take control in the scoring column, with a pair of goals just 2:03 apart, in the 50th and 52nd minutes.
The Fighting Knights kept their foot on the pedal, forcing the Sharks' defense to continue to play back, attempting six more shots in quick succession between the 55th and 60th minutes. Hearty made three more saves, however, to keep the deficit to two.
The Knights added to their lead with a third goal at exactly the 81-minute mark, the second of the match and 10th of the season for Anniina Sankoh.
The Sharks refused to give up, however, breaking up the shutout when Dani Correa assisted Brianna Paige for a goal with just 31 seconds left.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
Hearty matched her career high with eight saves for the second game in a row.
Paige's last-minute goal is her second of the year, putting her in a tie with Correa for the team lead, as well as sole possession of the points lead, at six.
After a quiet first half, both teams were significantly more aggressive after the break, combining for 27 second-half shots, with Lynn holding a 16-11 advantage.
Louise Matsgard led the team with four shots, all of which were on goal but stopped by Lynn's keeper, Sofia Manner. As a team, seven of the Sharks' 11 shots were on target.
