The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team jumped out to a big lead and cruised Wednesday night at Titan Field House.
The 23rd-ranked Titans got 3-pointers from Kristina Goncharuk and Kaitlyn Sanders early and led 16-4 halfway. Through the first quarter on their way to an 84-64 win over Miami Dade.
The Titans finished the first quarter on a 10-1 run to lead 28-7 after one quarter. Rapuluchi Ngorka would score six straight points in the first three minutes of the second quarter to build a 37-7 lead. The lead would stay at around 30 most of the quarter and the teams headed into halftime 49-19.
Miami Dade would go on a run, finishing the third quarter on an 11-3 run to cut into the lead.
But the lead would never drop under 20 as the Titans improved to 3-0 on the season.
Freshman Rapuluchi Ngorka had another huge night for the Titans, scoring 22 points and grabbing 20 rebounds for her second straight double-double. Ngorka also had five steals in the game.
Teammate Kaitlyn Sanders scored 16 points while Goncharuk added 10 points in the win. L'or Eyeba Mputu had six points and six rebounds on her birthday. Overall, 10 different players scored in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will be back at Titan Field House Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Palm Beach State College.
