NSU Falls Against Flames

Nova Southeastern University recently issued the following announcement.

Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball was defeated 73-47 on Saturday afternoon from the Rick Case Arena by the Lee (TN.) Flames. NSU dropped to 4-3 on the 2021-22 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

1ST QUARTER – Grace Gilmore hit back-to-back three-pointers, giving the Sharks an 8-5 lead over the Flames midway through the first quarter. Lee tied the game at 10-10, when McKenah Peters recorded a three-pointer, reclaiming the lead for the Sharks. India Shepherd closed out the first quarter with her first three-point make of the contest, as NSU went into the break ahead 17-14.  

2ND QUARTER – LU began the quarter on a 14-2 run, when Madeline Hardy stopped the run with a lay-up. Keanna Williams brought the Sharks back within four-points, recording a lay-up to put the score at 30-26. The Flames closed out the half with a 34-26 lead over NSU.  

3RD QUARTER – Shepherd hit two consecutive three-pointers, cutting the Flames lead to 42-35, halfway through the third quarter. The Sharks went into the fourth quarter trailing the Flames 51-39.  

4TH QUARTER – Nova Southeastern was only able to score eight points in the final quarter, dropping the non-conference matchup, 73-47 to the Flames.  

UPCOMING

NSU returns to the Rick Case Arena on Wed., Dec. 1, to continue Sunshine State Conference play against Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
