Park Smart When Returning To Campus

Campus safety cars

Broward College recently issued the following announcement.

Returning to campus after almost two years of remote work and classes will allow you to reconnect with fellow students, faculty, and the overall Broward College family. We are easing back into campus life with several class options now, allowing students to be in person when they prefer.

Student Life at Broward College and clubs have numerous engaging activities planned to welcome our Seahawks back. After so long apart, we have implemented some changes to help keep you safe and healthy on campus. In addition, we would like to give you some tips to Park Smart when returning to campus.

  • Arrive early: Allow yourself enough time to park correctly.
  • Identify open parking: Any unidentified parking spot on campus is open and available to everyone, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You don't need a hang tag to park in any unmarked spot.
  • Avoid parking in designated spots: Vehicles parked in areas designated for faculty and staff are required to have an employee parking hangtag properly displayed. Employees may obtain their hangtags or permits from the Broward College Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness district office at the Cypress Creek Administrative Center.
By following these parking tips, you can avoid parking issues.  Although Broward College is no longer issuing parking citations, a vehicle may be towed at the owner’s expense after three documented warnings for any of the following situations:

  • Unauthorized use of faculty/staff spaces
  • Unauthorized parking in disabled spaces
  • Parking in no parking zones
  • Parking in reserved areas
  • Parking in loading zones
  • Parking in other restricted areas
Park Smart and follow the College’s parking rules and regulations to avoid unwanted situations.

To familiarize yourself with campus and see additional student parking locations, you can view the campus map here. For more information on parking rules and regulations, visit broward.edu/parking.
