Eastern Florida State College recently issued the following announcement.

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will honor the 1999-2000 team during halftime of Saturday's game at Titan Field House.

The Titans will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville in a Central Conference game beginning at 4 p.m.

At halftime Eastern Florida State College will honor the 1999-2000 basketball team that won the program's last state title.

The then Brevard Community College team went 29-7 and was undefeated in the Southern Conference, a perfect 12-0 which was the first undefeated season in conference history.

The team defeated Okaloosa-Walton 66-62 in the final to claim the NJCAA Region VIII State Tournament title and advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament for the second time in school history.

"That team was absolutely amazing and at the time set a program record with 29 wins, made it to Hutch. That was the standard when I got here, we wanted to be like that team," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "That team was just phenomenal and I am just so excited to get to honor that team and get a chance to talk to them and hopefully stay in touch with some of them."

The Titans head into Saturday's game on a four-game win streak and is 4-1 in the conference and 14-6 overall. Eastern Florida State College won the first meeting of the season as five players scored at least 12 points in the win.

Saturday's game will begin at 4 p.m. and admission is free for games at Titan Field House and fans can watch the game as well as the 1999-2000 team being honored at halftime live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
