Nova Southeastern University issued the following announcement on Feb. 23.

Sharks Look Ahead to Regular Season finale

The Nova Southeastern Sharks Women's Basketball team was defeated 73-58 on the road in a Sunshine State Conference showdown against the Lynn Fighting Knights on Wednesday evening from the de Hoernle Sports and Cultural Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

1ST QUARTER – After opening the contest down 4-0, McKenah Peters made a three-pointer to bring the Sharks within one point. Lynn took a 12-6 lead over NSU, but India Shepherd cut the deficit in half with her first three-pointer of the game. Patricia "Pistol" Brinson ended the quarter with another three-point bucket for the Sharks, sending the game into the second quarter with the Sharks trailing 14-12.  

2ND QUARTER – Lynn started the second quarter with a 9-2 run, pushing their lead to 23-14, before A'lexus Bryant and Grace Gilmore converted buckets to bring the Sharks within five points. Back-to-back baskets from Peters and Gilmore brought the score to 26-22 with 3:14 left in the first half. NSU went into the halftime break trailing 32-24.  

3RD QUARTER – The Knights began to pull away in the third quarter, with the Sharks shooting a game-low of 25% from the field, to take a 53-34 advantage.  

4TH QUARTER – Nova Southeastern was unable to cut the score to single digits throughout the fourth quarter, as the Sharks dropped the SSC contest 73-58.  

UP NEXT 

Nova Southeastern concludes its 2021-22 regular season on the road against the Eagles of Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Feb. 26. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
