The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team swept St. Petersburg College Wednesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans have won eight of the first 10 games for the first time in nearly a decade after defeating St. Petersburg 25-14, 25-16, 25-10.
Eastern Florida State College got off to a fast start behind the serving of Juliana De Acharan and a Delphinia Beams kill gave the Titans an 11-2 lead in the first set. Emma Kiser had a couple of aces to increase the lead to 17-8. Sofia Kamke had a couple of kills late and Beams had a block to help finish the first set.
The second set saw St. Petersburg take a 7-5 lead early but Eastern Florida stormed back with a 10-2 run, taking a 15-9 lead. From there the Titans cruised to a 25-16 win and a 2-0 lead.
Rachele Braccio scored 10 straight points including a couple of aces to give the Titans a commanding 12-2 lead. A Gaia Riedmuller ace gave the Titans a 17-7 lead on their way to a 25-10 win and a straight set win.
Eastern Florida State College will open the Suncoast Conference schedule on Tuesday evening as Miami Dade College comes to Titan Field House for a 6 p.m. game.
