Due to Hurricane Ian’s continued path towards southwest and central Florida, numerous athletic events are being postponed and rescheduled as appropriate. Currently, all games starting today through this weekend will be postponed or cancelled based on campus being closed and teams not being able to practice and train. More specific information regarding either postponements or cancelations of this week’s contests will be made soon and communicated via each team’s schedule. The college will close all operations for Wednesday and Thursday this week as the storm approaches the local area. Once the storm passes and college officials deem the campus is safe to access, those messages will be communicated to students and staff via Falconmail, text messages, and social media platforms.
“The health and safety of our student-athletes and coaches is paramount and our decisions will be based first and foremost with that in mind,” said Will Dunne, Daytona State Athletic Director.
