5.8% of Lafayette County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Lafayette County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 191 people out of the 8,343 living in Lafayette County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Lafayette County has decreased compared to the 10.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Lafayette County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 3,103 people who had a job during that time, 43 were employed in the Armed Forces and 3,060 belonged to the civilian labor force.
