Marcus Garrett tied his career-high of 27 points in Bethune-Cookman’s 87-85 setback to North Florida Thursday afternoon in Moore Gymnasium.

The Wildcats, who dropped an 88-44 decision to the Ospreys back on Dec. 10, cut a 79-68 deficit to 83-81 on Zion Harmon’s jumper with 54 seconds remaining.  UNF kept the Wildcats at bay by going 4-5 from the free throw line in the last minute to preserve the win.

Garrett was 9-15 from the field and 8-10 from the line in his second straight 20 point game of the season.

Harmon added 17 points for B-CU, while Derrick Carter-Hollinger scored 13 and Kevin Davis 11.

B-CU trailed 41-40 at halftime, but  made seven of its first ten shots in the second half to take a 58-54 lead on a Garrett traditional three-point play with 14:06 left.

UNF led 31-19 with 8:25 remaining in the first half, but B-CU used an 11-0 run to cut to 31-30 on Harmon’s jumper with 4:41 left. The Ospreys had a four-point lead, but the Wildcats closed out the half on a Dylan Robertson traditional three-point play to close to 41-40 at halftime.

Oscar Berry led UNF with 23 points.

The Wildcats return to action Dec. 29 at Illinois.
