Wildcats Outlasted by Alabama A&M

The Wildcats took the first two sets of the afternoon but could not close as the Alabama A&M Bulldogs stormed back for a 3-2 victory, Sunday afternoon in Huntsville.

How it Happened

The Wildcats (0-15, 0-3 SWAC) took a hard-fought first set, 25-20. The Wildcats stormed out to a 25-7 victory in the second set, hitting .600 as a team.

Alabama A&M (3-15, 2-1 SWAC) took things form there, winning back-to-back sets, 25-18 and 25-23 to stave off defeat and remain alive. The Bulldogs overpowered the Wildcats in the fifth set, 15-4 for the victory.

Notes 

  • Jasmine Moore led the Wildcats with 12 kills. Mecca Freeman followed with 11.
  • The Wildcats finished with 50 kills as a team, their second-highest total this season.
  • B-CU finished with 55 digs as a team, their second-highest total this season. Adriana Marrero led with 17.
  • Alleah Dallas finished with four service aces, her most in a game in her career.
  • Jaedyn Newman contributed seven block assists. Dallas added five.
