Daytona State College issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.
Sophomore Setter, Jenna Zimmermann, earns FCSAA Setter of the Week Honors for the second time.
After an injury setback that left Sophomore Setter Jenna Zimmermann on the sideline for over 2 weeks of play she comes back on the court with vengeance earning the honors of FCSAA Setter of the Week. Zimmermann played her first night back with the Falcons last week on the road against Eastern Florida State College. Zimmerman earned an impressive 41 assists in only 4 sets of play – some of which she was playing a 6-2 role. Zimmermann added an additional 14 assists in the 6-2 role against Miami Dade College on Saturday. In addition to her assists on the court, Zimmermann added 14 digs and 1 ace to her impressive stats.
“Jenna has been an asset to this program since her Freshman season and continues to grow in the setter/offensive leadership role. Our team was extremely excited to have her back in the lineup as we kicked off the second round of Suncoast Conference play and I couldn’t be more proud of her performance last week after sitting out a substantial amount of time due to injury. I am looking forward to seeing her continue to get her groove back and dominate on the court!” said Head Coach Laura Booker Anderson.
Zimmermann and the Falcons will take their home court on Saturday against the #1 ranked Florida Southwestern Buccaneers at 2pm for another Suncoast Conference matchup. Join us in the L.
